Tori Types Thoughts
Tori's very average blog
We are two months late for a blog post, but never fear - I got the content that you CRAVE!
With the world premier of The Radiant Tarot, several trips, and of course keeping up with my private life - February and March were insane months. This pause into Pisces season found my strengths and powers coalescing in compelling ways. It all started off with a severe bought of COVID that took me out for three weeks (and to be honest, I still don't feel fully healed from). I stopped being contagious right on time for Myra and Yeva to fly into Boise to set up the world premier of Invaders of the Heart 2023: The Radiant Tarot!
Photos from the World Premier by the amazing Miguel!!
Taken from my Insta account: Thank you to @myramosaic for believing in me and giving me the role of a lifetime! The Fool is the archetype closest to my heart and I am honored to embody this character.
Thank you to @ceciliarinn for too many things to count, but mostly changing my entire life for the better. Thank you to the Starbelly Dancers for being my heart outside of my body. You are all a revelation: @aly_shimmyshimmy_a, @kiss.my.stardust, @cassandrajoandance, and Chad! I am so honored to be performing with my magic papi @drake.vontrapp and my bebe gurl @missmoonjuice - thank you both for playing with me this week, sharing your inner worlds, and being freaking awesome. To the entire ensemble cast, comprised of amazing students from @starbellydanceschool and out of town guests - what an amazing ride. As I've interacted with you all individually, I am just freaking impressed. WOW - what an incredible group. Thank you to @mydearwatson1831, the amazing actress, Elle, the beautiful badass, @p0stmilly, the seed of a star, @osaro_mortis, my sexy penetante, @paulasimoneap, the embodiment of generosity, Corie, the well of talent, Charlotte, my gentle obsession and a very very very special "I LOVE YOU" to @risner.sue (Chop Suey) and @keeracooper27 (The Goddess Covfefe) who saved my ass a thousand ways this week. I loved meeting and dancing with Jeri (my telepathic sista) and @jockbellydance (my restaurant dance parter) - how are you both so RAD!?! @itry2dream, thank you for being a constant source of inspiration and charisma - please take a moment to bathe in your success (with your lovely Queen)! Thank you to the entire crew at @vacuber, for dealing with a gaggle of loudmouth belly dancers. I'm lumping Dave the blue hair and @fragmentchaz my friend that ignores me to this thank you - how can you all be so great?!?
Huge and special thank yous go to:
â@alexandraeldridge8 , the incredible artist that created The Radiant Tarot deck, and I'm so grateful that she has shared her talent with the world. I have loved getting to know you and I'm so thrilled to be a part of bringing your world to life! @tbarnstone we don't know each other...yet! I do know the words you've written and man oh man, you've created the best tarot book I've ever read! I didn't get a chance to thank the readers who were a part of the show! Thank you for adding another layer of magic Gypsy, Michelle, and Victoria! You guys are the real deal! Special thank you to the film and photo crew for capturing the magic - Matt, Jacob, Peter and of course @miguel_a_arteaga (who took this fabulous photo and sent it right away)! You know what's coming - I'm thanking YOU. Thank you for supporting this cast and crew, for believing in the arts, and for saying YES to deeper meaning, mysteries, and magic. None of this is possible without you and your gorgeous intent.
With a few gigs sprinkled in-between, we immediately hightailed it to the Big Island of Hawaii to do it all over again! This time, the amazing Kaeshi Chai would join us! I'm sharing my big gratitude post from Instagram because it has a fabulous slideshow of all the fun!
Why would we rest when the next big thing was Treefort Music Festival! Check out the pics taken by Charlotte Vorhies on this post below!
âI was thrilled to make my riqq debut at @treefortfest a few days ago. I am not where I want to be with this instrument, however sometimes you just have to say yes to opportunities when they emerge. I haven't been so uncomfortable on stage in a while, trying my best to do things right but also to support @ceciliarinn as she played cymbals and danced with a Shamadan. I'm excited to get better, I'm excited to further my practice, and I am super excited about how much closer I'm getting to the heart of this art form with every humbling lesson. I am really proud of what this photo symbolizes - growth, friendship, and culture! Special thank you to Cecilia for pushing me and @matthewvorhies for the (unsolicited but deeply appreciated) tough love!
